Being kind to yourself 

How often do you call yourself stupid or dumb because you made a mistake or forgot something? Sister, these words hurt more than words delivered from anybody else. Instead of berating yourself or beating yourself up and fuelling anxiety more, try telling yourself you’re amazing. Accept and validate your feelings and stop trying to be perfect!

Mindful Eating

Anxiety can often lead us to make poor food decisions which affect how we think and feel. Instead of reaching for the tub of ice-cream or eating your feelings in corn chips, try listening to your body, eat foods that bless your body – hello greens! And eat more whole foods, limit your processed sugar (or any processed food for that matter) and appreciate the food that is fuelling your perfect body.

Take time for the simple things

I know that this sounds a little corny however making time for the simple things in life helps immensely to make us feel happier and reduce anxiety. Try listening to music, sitting in the sun or your favourite chair with a book, make a warm drink, light your favourite candle or spend time journaling on your goals and dreams.
