The difference between stress and anxiety is that stress puts you in a heightened state of awareness, getting you prepared to take an action. Think of stress as your body’s way of giving you a boost of energy to get you ready to react to your environment.

Anxiety is associated more with feelings of excessive worry, problematic thoughts and fear. When someone is feeling anxious their thoughts are more like focused on the future and creating predictions that something dangerous or threatening may happen and this has then feeling stuck.
